The verb form of pink is interesting. I knew the one having to do with sewing. It’s a way of cutting an patterned edge on something; thus the term pinking sheers. But I didn’t know it also means to stab or pierce by irony or ridicule. I’ve never heard it used that way. The only reference I found used this way was from an ancient book.
I found this definition of “to pink” in the Urban Dictionary:
1. “to hit someone repeatedly on the chin, the make-believe sound punches make before one is knocked out.” I won’t repeat the example sentence though!
