H1N1: Problematic for Freelancers?
Today’s H1N1 hype says that if a pandemic that puts thousands at home, working from their desktops, it could jam the Internet. If this is true, it could be a problem for those of us who depend on the Internet for our livelihood everyday, not just when a flue breaks out.
The idea seems a bit silly to me, though. All those folks online at home are not online at work. There should be enough bandwidth to go around. Are they taking into account all the unused bandwidth at the office? Here’s hoping it’s just media regurgitation of some alarmist thinking!
