Writing for eCopywriters

You asked, so I’m answering. eCopywriters has five grades of writer, similar to the Textbroker 4-level system. I’m a Level-2 author, which means either the quality of my work isn’t so great or I am not writing for them enough. My customers elsewhere glow about my work, so I’m pretty sure it’s because I only write for them when there is nothing else brewing; and lately, there’s been a lot brewing!

The Pay Scale

You need to write for eCopywriters frequently and be a good copywriter if you want to increase your level and earn a higher rate of pay. Even at level 2, eCopywriters is still pretty much in line with other sites that offer steady, dependable work. Copywriting is a trade off. Either you take low pay for the promise of steady work or you take a chance and get paid more, with no promises for more work.

Getting Promoted

eCopywriters says there is no set time-frame for increasing your level, but most authors will write steadily for 3-4 weeks before being promoted. It all depends on the quality of your writing and your reliability.

Maybe you can let us know where there has been a lot brewing? Where can I find a site like this without all the games?

Hi, Rich. A lot is brewing from a few regular clients I have picked up. Two were craigslist advertised jobs that turned into long term gigs. One was a website owner who found me through my guru.com profile and approached me. That keeps me busy most of the time.

As far as the games eCopywriters plays, you have to understand they are running a business. It may not even be eCopywriters that is giving you trouble, but instead the client that ordered from them. Sometimes you just get a sour apple for a client through no fault of your own. ECopywriters has to base what they do on what the clients say because clients pay the bills.

There are other sites like eCopywriters that pay similar rates, but not quite as good. Textbroker and Content Authority are other options. There is also Human Rewriter. If it were me (and it once was, believe me!) I would work on improving my writing skills with a humble heart.

It’s a balancing act of hearing critics out, but only making changes if the criticism is constructive or reasonable. Even then, you can’t let it bug you. You have to just move on to the next piece with the resolve that you will not make the same mistake again. If you get a low score, resolve to make it better.

And if you really want to make good money at writing, you have to put yourself out there and take chances. Create an effective profile on Guru and apply for as many jobs as you think you can perform. Stay on top of it daily. Once I made a goal of applying for at least five jobs a day, I fell into some excellent work relationships that are giving me full time pay. That’s a lot of work for maybe pay. That’s what I mean about taking chances. But if you are a good writer, those chances will pay off in the form of regular, loyal clients. You just have to keep plugging away at it.
